Abstract
The article reveals the main priorities of the U.S. science and technology policy during Donald Trump's presidency, including the priorities aimed at the development of separate areas of science for the solution of the current national tasks. The author notes that federal government still plays very important role in R&D development. However under the influence of a number of factors, including recession of 2008-2009, formation of science and technology priorities in the USA has pragmatic character in recent years, is followed by revision of the majority of the existing programs and increase in selectivity of their financing. In the conditions of budget deficit discretionary spending on R&D will be most likely limited, and that could serve as a limiting factor of science development.
