Editorial policy

The journal "Russia and America in the 21th Century" is a unique online periodical, which contains scientific and educational articles by leading domestic and foreign historians, reflecting the results of modern research.

The journal "Russia and America in the 21th Century" provides round-the-clock access to publications, the quality of which has been verified by the professional community of historians, while the materials of the journal are intended not only for specialists-scientists, teachers and students, but also for all those interested in the issues of national and world history.

The journal "Russia and America in the 21th Century" guarantees: 1) the permanence of the storage of articles; 2) the immutability of the Internet address; 3) the authenticity and absence of changes in the text of publications. The journal "Russia and America in the XXI century" is guided in its activities by this editorial policy and the principles of publication ethics.


During the calendar year, 4 planned issues (1 issue per quarter) are regularly published, as well as additional thematic issues on various issues of historical research, the total number of which can't exceed 4 issues per year. The volume of the issue may not exceed 30 publications. Issues of the journal are also published in the traditional printed version in the amount required for mandatory mailing.


The author reports the publisher of the journal "Russia and America in the 21th Century" the right to publish and distribute your article free of charge. The author, for his part, confirms that he hadn’t previously published amount of the article more than 50 % in any other publications, and agrees 1) not to publish the amount of the article more than 50% in any other publications; 2) do not use for commercial purposes and not to post in any other publications without the consent of the "Integration: Education and Science" electronic original-layout of the article.

Peer review

All applications for publication received by the editorial Board of the Journal "Russia and America in the 21th Century" are subject to double-blind review (the reviewer does not know the author of the manuscript, the author of the manuscript does not know the reviewer). The following materials are accepted for consideration: scientific article, review, abstracts, educational text.

The review is carried out on the website of the journal in online mode using the integrated module. Review of articles is carried out by members of the editorial Board and invited reviewers-leading experts in the relevant field of historical science. The decision to choose a reviewer is made by the editor-in-chief, Deputy editor-in-chief or the editor-in-chief. If there is a conflict of interest, the reviewer has the right to refuse to conduct an examination of the article.

The review period is 2-4 weeks, but at the request of the reviewer can be extended. Based on the results of the review of the manuscript, the reviewer makes the following recommendations:

the article is recommended for publication in this form

the article can be published after correction of the shortcomings noted by the reviewer

the article needs additional review by another specialist

the article cannot be published in the journal

If the review contains recommendations for correction and revision of the article, the editorial Board sends the text of the review to the author with a proposal to take them into account when preparing a new version of the article or to refute them with arguments (partially or completely). The revised article is re-sent for review.

Revision of the article should take no more than 2 months from the date of notification of the author of the need for changes. At the end of this period, the author is notified of the withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration for publication. If the author refuses to finalize the article, he must notify the editors in writing of his decision.

An article not recommended for publication is not accepted for reconsideration

The presence of a positive review is not a sufficient reason for the publication of the article. The final decision on publication is made at a meeting of the editorial Board. In any conflict situations, the final decision is made by the editor-in-chief.

After the decision of the editorial Board to allow the article to be published, the editorial Board informs the author about it, indicating the possible timing of publication. The fee for the publication of articles in the journal from the authors is not charged.

The review module allows you to store the original reviews on the journal's website for an unlimited time. In the case of traditional peer review, copies of reviews are kept in the editorial office of the journal for 5 years, during which they can be submitted to the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation if requested.



Scientific articles published in the journal are indexed by the Russian scientific citation index( RSCI), annotations to them are placed in the Electronic scientific library eLIBRARY.ru, the international search engine Google Scholar. In accordance with the international standard of scientific periodicals, each article receives its own unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) after publication.
